We had the most incredible day with Bernard! From start to finish, he was extremely knowledgeable, personable and made the entire experience so much more meaningful.

Even before our tour, Bernard reached out to ask what we were hoping to see and get out of our day so he could customize the experience specifically for us. His communication leading up to the tour was excellent—he gave us clear directions for our meeting point, answered every question I had and made the entire process incredibly easy.

We only had half a day in Normandy, but Bernard customized our itinerary perfectly to make sure we were able to see everything that mattered most to us—Omaha Beach, the German bunkers, the Normandy American Cemetery and Pointe du Hoc. We never felt rushed and the amount of history and context he was able to share at each stop was incredible.

My husband loves learning about World War II and I’m so thankful we chose to experience Normandy with Bernard. There is absolutely no way we would have gotten nearly as much out of our visit without him. He brought the history of each place to life in a way we’ll remember for a very long time.

We have been doing an e-bike tour with Bernard from American cemetery, Omaha beach and Pointe du Hoc staritng at his authentic water mill. It was such an exceptionnal tour and day we have spent with him!

First of all, we discovered his mill which was a return in the past. Bernard was especially good in making alive what was previously a traditional mill: He explained us very clearly how the normand milars were working at that time and how the whole mechanism was working. It was very interresting not only for us but also for our kids. We learn too late that his mill was also a guesthouse: we would have loved to stay in this magic place at least 1 ot 2 nights since at the top of that there are plenty of unusual animals like Alpagas or Shetland mini-poneys...

Then we starts our tour on the normand courntryside where we crossed some extraordinary landscape, forest, little valley etc... to reach the incredible Omaha beach at Colleville. Bernard makes us an overall explanation of the geographical and historical  context  and then lead us to the spectacular American Cemetery. Thanks to special bycicle he has the secret, Bernard send us the the St Laurent side and make us dicover different bunkers which were part of the gigantic Atlantic wall. Thanks to him, we understand now how and why it was designed that way. We discover the overhall Omaha Beach thanks to these efficient e-bikes without strong effort.

Latter, we took a special bicycle track at the top of this majesty white cliffs to go to the next memorable site: Pointe du Hoc. All his detailed explanations about what happens there, why and how makes our visit exceptional.

Then we went back by another interesting countryisde tracks along the normand landscape. That was really a memorable day and we were so happy that Bernard could make us feel the spirit of Normandy. We wish we could do the others tours he proposed. He had a deep knowledge of what happens during the DDay and we would love to come back and make another tour with him, maybe on hicking next time.

We booked a one-and-a-half-day private tour with Bernard to visit the D-Day landing beaches, especially Omaha Beach and Utah Beach – and it was an absolutely outstanding experience.

Bernard is not only extremely knowledgeable about D-Day and the events of June 6, 1944, but also a genuinely warm, friendly and likeable person. His knowledge is incredibly detailed, and he has a wonderful ability to bring the history, the places and the individual stories to life.

What we particularly appreciated was how flexible he was. He adapted the tour completely to our interests, the topics we wanted to focus on and also to our available time. His English is excellent, so communication was effortless throughout the entire tour.

A special highlight was that Bernard took us to several places that are clearly far beyond the usual tourist routes. At some locations we were completely alone – places we would never have discovered without him. These hidden spots, combined with his detailed explanations, made the experience particularly memorable.
